About
About My Writing:
Though I have read hundreds of excellent books for adults, few have captured the magic of the books I loved between the ages of eight and fourteen.
Aside from The Chronicles of Narnia and A Wrinkle in Time, fantasy books were a rare find in the libraries of my youth. So instead, I read stories about animals. Their worlds were as close to magic as I could get.
I always hoped and believed there were more books out there than I was getting to see, but I grew up and the books I should have read as a child lingered on the shelves of libraries in some other school, town, or country.
Now I write books my eight-to-fourteen-year-old self would have wanted—stories of magic, mystery, and finding my way in an unknown universe. And of course, animals.
About Me:
Aside from nearly five years spent in Singapore, I have lived in Texas my whole life and I love it. Until the temperature gets over 100 degrees, I don’t even mind the heat. I must have been a lizard in a previous life.
I have been married to my high school sweetheart for thirty years. We have a wonderful son who reminds me daily of the fun of being a kid (I have a Nerf dart stuck in my hair as I write this). I love to be outdoors working in my garden, visiting our excellent state parks or just relaxing and reading a book.
Thank you for visiting!
