My favorite thing to do when I was eleven was to grab a book, climb a fruit tree and spend the afternoon reading and munching. Though I don’t climb trees as often now, I’m still secretly eleven inside and still love a good middle grade novel.

Aside from nearly five years spent in Singapore, I have lived in Texas my whole life and I love it. Until the temperature gets over 100 degrees, I don’t even mind the heat.

At the end of summer 2017, the peaceful bayou that ran behind the home where my family had lived for twenty years was inundated after the dam releases following Hurricane Harvey. We are still (and will be for a very long time) in the process of recovering from this disaster. Since I had no time to maintain it, this website was another casualty of the flood. Like many other things in my life, my website will recover but it won’t be quite the same as it was before. I apologize to those of you who will miss certain features, but hope the new material will help people find great new books and writing events.

Thank you for visiting!
